What a year it has been!
Little did I know that the last blog I wrote (Balance) way back in April was foretelling what I would be focusing on this year – staying in balance. It wasn’t so much what happened outside of me as what happened on the inside. My inner world was repeatedly turned upside down in a ways I could never have imagined.
Just like many of you, there has been much letting go this past year. Not that we haven’t been doing this for a few years now, but this time it seemed to be more final.
If you are wondering why are we letting so much go it is because this is the way we become our essential selves. By letting go of the things that are not who we really are, or are not supporting us, we create the ability to see through the illusions in our lives. We let go of what we learned from others and took on as our own. We let go of what we thought was real but turned out to be belief patterns we had formed to help us deal with our daily lives and experiences. We also let go of friends, partners and family, anyone who was not going in the same direction we were.
Some of us had to dig deep and let go of our hopes and dreams, what we came here to do, and even our existance here on earth. This was all for the purpose of stripping ourselves down to the bone so we could see who we were and what we wanted, from a position of purity. We were no longer veiled by the illusions that prevented us from seeing and being our greatness. Step by step we have been uncovering our beauty, our passions, our love, and our connections to each other.
And it’s been hard work! I thought I knew what it was to feel exhausted, finished, and empty, but this year has given new meaning to these words! Just when I was convinced my absolute limit had been reached I discovered that I was able to push the barrier just a little bit further.
So, what’s left now that we have been reduced to our bare essentials?
We have a framework, a structure to rebuild on. We have a foundation on which we can create what we have been trying to create for oh so long now. But this time it is based on what is real and not the illusions of our past.
However, before we start rebuilding, some of us may need to take a break and rest. We may need to first restock our depleted energy reserves or test the waters to see if it really is time. Our faith may have been severly shaken (like an earthquake!) and we need to allow things to settle down and stabilize.
Take some time to breathe, to sit back and take stock of all that has transpired, or to gather all parts of yourself together and appreciate a job very well done.
A new year and decade stands before us, as well as a new energy. Everything we have known or experienced is gone. We are in the new – new thoughts, feelings, perspectives, and approach. This year and the coming years will be about learning to work with and in this new energy. This is what we have been working and waiting for. We have done it!
I want to share with all of you the intention of happiness and health, wisdom and wealth, infinite love and gratitude. Remember to give to yourself and be generous – you deserve it!
